January 7, 1987
Gewatec was founded in 1987 by Dr. Reinhold Walz. It started with the development of technical mathematical software for the programming of CNC-controlled automatic lathes. This was quickly followed by other industry-specific software modules for calculation and order management for turned parts production.

Relocation to a newly acquired building, today's Plant 1 in Groz-Beckert-Strasse 4 in Wehingen.
June 25, 1998
The Gewatec Technology Days (GTT) are held for the first time and are the first step for the now traditional in-house exhibition in the heart of the Heuberg.
February 1, 2001
In order to be able to use the software solution in production, the development of industrial PCs was started very early.
February 3, 2003
In order to expand the production of industrial PCs, a further building was occupied, the so-called Plant 2.
June 5, 2006
GEWATEC already serves over 500 customers.

To gain more space, an extension is being built in Plant 1 in conjunction with a new entrance.
